U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Peter J. Boynton, Captain of the Port for Long Island Sound, announced Sept. 22, 2006 that he has completed an assessment of the safety and security issues for the Broadwater Energy Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility proposed for Long Island Sound and has submitted his report to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).  This Waterways Suitability Report (WSR) will be included in FERC's draft environmental impact statement.  The report and a summary of its findings as well as maps of the facility's proposed location and traffic routes for LNG carriers are available below.
